Between 1,500 and 1,600 homes in the Ten-Bel urbanization, on the Costa del Silencio (Arona), were affected by a power outage that began at around 10 in the morning, motivated, according to the sources consulted by this newspaper, by the debt accumulated by the property of the urbanization with the company Endesa.
The different communities of owners, in coordination with the Arona City Council, proceeded to rent or buy generators to bring electricity to the different complexes of the urbanization, where workers from the area and tourists mostly reside, especially on a vacation rental basis. .
Municipal sources indicated that throughout the early morning most of the generators will be installed and late last night the homes began to gradually receive the supply generated by the engines. The solution, in any case, is provisional and does not solve the underlying problem.
Both the mayor of Arona, José Julián Mena, as well as the Security Councilor, Francisco Marichal, as well as agents of the Local Police and members of Civil Protection to guarantee security in the urbanization.
