SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, Sep 21 (EUROPA PRESS) –
The mayor of the municipality of El Paso, Sergio Rodríguez, detailed this Tuesday that the residents who had to be evicted last night as a result of the appearance of a new eruptive mouth range between 150 and 200 people.
The mayor has explained in statements to ‘Canarias Radio’, collected by Europa Press’, that the evacuation took place for security reasons and only affects the areas of El Espigón, Camino Nuevo and the upper part of Echedey Street.
Sergio Rodríguez has indicated that the night has been one of “tense calm” because “you cannot do anything, other than be aware of ensuring that people in danger are out of their homes”, and some people had to be helped “who they were left behind because of animals. “
Asked by those people who are going to the municipality of El Paso to see the volcano, Sergio Rodríguez acknowledges that this is creating “a problem attached to the one we already have.”
Rodríguez understands that many people may be “curious”, but assures that there are problems being able to move between the volcano area and other logistics areas, especially in the afternoons.
In fact, yesterday the municipality collapsed due to the number of people who came by car to see the eruption. For this reason, Sergio Rodríguez has called for responsibility so that “we all work on the same line and collaborate with those on the front line; if not, we will make sure that nothing works.”
