The Cabildo of Tenerife is hosting the Crafts Fair in Reyes, scheduled to occur in the Plaza del Príncipe in Santa Cruz de Tenerife, alongside the Christmas Crafts Market, which will be located in the Plaza del Adelantado in La Laguna.
Both events will be accessible to the public until January 5, with the intention of promoting the sale of both traditional and innovative crafts.
The primary event features 46 artisans, presenting 29 different types of crafts, while La Laguna will host 31 artisans showcasing 23 distinct artisan crafts.
The events were announced this Monday at a press briefing attended by the Minister of Employment and Education, Efraín Medina; the mayor of Santa Cruz de Tenerife, José Manuel Bermúdez; the Councillor for Promotion and Local Development, Domingo Galván, and the manager of the Insular Crafts Company, Ricardo Cologan.
Efraín Medina expressed his gratitude to the municipalities of Santa Cruz de Tenerife and La Laguna and to the entire team that has worked diligently to actualise the fairs.
“I am immensely proud of the effort made. The craftsmanship of Tenerife is of exceptional quality, and the recognition we received last week, where our entry secured second place in the National Crafts Awards, serves as a testament,” he stated.
José Manuel Bermúdez praised the Cabildo for their orchestration of the artisan event, emphasising that the City Council places “great importance” on crafts during this period, which complements the offerings of the flea market. Within this context, “the fairs have become a genuine reference point, thriving for 27 years, showcasing products crafted with passion and dedication.”
Domingo Galván noted that “the fair is a pivotal event during the festive season,” acknowledging the Cabildo for “continuously valuing the unique artisan products” and that the department has consistently “promoted and supported” these endeavours.
The XXVII Crafts Fair in Reyes will take place in the Plaza del Príncipe in Santa Cruz de Tenerife from January 2 to 5, 2025, featuring the participation of 46 artisans.
Thus, from January 2 to 4, it will be open from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. and from 3:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m., while on January 5 it will operate from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. and from 3:00 p.m. to midnight.
Exhibitors holding the appropriate artisan card, issued by the Cabildo of Tenerife, will participate in the fair, selected based on a call that favoured professionalism in the execution of artisan activities.
This edition will present attendees with productions related to 29 artisan categories: Patchwork, Ceramics, Fabric Decoration, Bookbinding, Felt, Frivolité, Crochet, Printing and Engraving, Musical Instruments, Soap Making, Jewellery, Toy Making, Macramé, Leather Goods, Modelling, Dressmaking, Doll Making, Paper and Cardboard, Material Recycling, Traditional Costumes, Woodturning, in addition to Traditional Pottery, Embroidery, Openwork, Traditional Carpentry, Cutlery, Cigars, Rosettes, and Weaving.

Meanwhile, the XVI Christmas Craft Market is taking place in the Plaza del Adelantado, featuring exhibitors selected according to a call that prioritised professionalism in the realm of craft activities.
This edition will present guests with productions across 23 artisan categories: Pottery, Almazuelas, Carpentry, Ceramics, Ceremonial Crafts, Fabric Decoration, Enamelling, Felt, Crochet, Jewellery, Macramé, Leather Goods, Modelling, Dressmaking, Miniature Crafts, Doll Making, Paper and Cardboard, Material Recycling, Wood Turning, Glass Making, plus Traditional Carpentry, Weaving, and Openwork.
The timings will align with those of the capital’s fair, as indicated in a statement from the Cabildo.
At both fairs, the selected artisan exhibitors will present their own unique productions, ensuring quality and ample quantities for the entire duration of the Fair.
Additionally, the Insular Crafts Company will offer information, maintenance, packaging, and card payment services, designed to facilitate purchases at both events.
