SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, September 20 (EUROPA PRESS) –
The CEO of World2Meet (W2M) – travel division of the Iberostar Group -, Gabriel Subías, has indicated that the group plans to increase in the Canary Islands 47 percent in turnover and 35 percent in passengers, which would imply grow double digits in both revenue and number of clients.
This was stated by Subías during a presentation of the group to the main tourism businessmen in Tenerife, in which he assured that the Canary Islands is one of the “most important” destinations for the project they have, hence he pointed out that they are strengthening operations in the archipelago and strengthening commercial relationships with local partners, both with hotels and with transfer providers, rent a car, authorities, among others.
Subías, who was accompanied in the presentation by the general director of Bedbank&DMC, Noelia Báez, pointed out that W2M is currently on three of the islands and plans to soon open its fourth delegation on the island of Fuerteventura, to which he added that it works with more than 1,000 distributors for this destination.
One of its “strongest” divisions in the Canary Islands, he added, is the bank of beds it has, more than 760 hotels with its own contracting. In relation to this, he has been explaining to Tenerife businessmen the main figures of the group, whose turnover this year is expected to reach 2,100 million compared to the 1,420 million with which it closed 2022.
Also at the passenger level, W2M expects to reach 6.8 million while its airline will exceed 510,000 seats for this year.
The CEO of W2M has also spoken about each of the 18 brands that make up the travel division – distribution, product, airline, bedbank, destination service and accommodation – and which were joined earlier this week by Grand azulmarino, teaches aimed at the premium customer, whose first store is located in Valladolid, and The Sphere Private Travel focused on the luxury segment customer.
Finally, he pointed out that one of the new things that Gabriel Subías has revealed is the inclusion of the Aloe Club hotel, located in the municipality of Corralejo (Fuerteventura) to the 07 Hotels portfolio. It will be the group’s hotel manager who will take charge of the management of the resort starting next October 1, the date on which a phased renovation of the facilities will also begin to offer “better service and the best experience” to the customer.
