SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE 30 Oct. (EUROPA PRESS) –
The president of the Canary Islands, Fernando Clavijo, extended a message of “solidarity and encouragement” to the Valencian Community this Wednesday following the aftermath of a DANA that has resulted in 51 fatalities to date.
In comments made to the press, he highlighted that the circumstances are “harrowing” and emphasised that during “such challenging times,” it is essential to support the autonomous community with unity. “We must all stand with Valencia,” he asserted.
In this vein, he mentioned that ‘WhatsApp’ communications have been shared with the Valencian president, Carlos Mazón, to express the islands’ continued backing, recognising that these are “difficult and complex times” in the wake of such a natural disaster.
Clavijo also took a moment to acknowledge the emergency services who are tirelessly assisting individuals impacted by the floods “during these times of extreme hardship.”
