Yesterday, the Cabildo presented the 2023 Solidarity Awards, which this year celebrate their twenty-seventh edition. In total, the jury has awarded 16 honorable mentions and a second prize to Ashotel and all emergency entities, volunteer firefighter associations and civil protection groups for their collaboration in the recent fire in Tenerife.
The Minister of Social Action, Águeda Fumero, explained that “with these distinctions, from the Cabildo we intend to recognize the voluntary work that is carried out on the Island in all social areas.”

Specifically, the jury distinguished the sociocultural association Vida Con Salud, the Hospital Sisters of the Sacred Heart of Jesús-Acamán, as well as the Venezuela Solidarity Social Association and the Peruvian Community in Tenerife. In the company category, the Tenerife Pharmaceutical Cooperative and the Provincial Federation of Metal and New Technologies Companies were distinguished, while the solidarity actions of the IES Magallanes and CEIP El Monte schools stand out. The award for the commitment of the public administration, entities or organization went to the town councils of Los Realejos and Santa Cruz de Tenerife; and as for the media, the winners are Rumberos FM and Onda Aguere Radio Geneto, for the program Voluntarízate, from La Laguna Solidaria.

Finally, the distinguished people were Carmen María Lucas Rodríguez (president of Acufade), Andrés Orozco Muñoz (president of the AECC in Santa Cruz de Tenerife), Yahaira Thovar (president of Adepac) and Alicia Rodríguez Hernández (president of Inclúyeme).
