La Palma airport is still operating although there are flight delays

La Palma airport remains operational despite the volcanic eruption that affects the island since last Sunday, although the first delays have begun affecting six inter-island flights with Tenerife and Gran Canaria.

The ash from the volcano has already begun to arrive through the Mazo airport area But for now, neither Aena nor Enaire, the air navigation manager in Spain, have activated any restriction.

In fact, this Wednesday a total of 679 flights were operated in the Canary Islands and there were no incidents on La Palma, and for this Thursday 48 operations are planned with the ‘pretty island’.
