
The City Council of Santa Cruz de Tenerife, through the Public Services area directed by Carlos Tarife, has an action plan through which the cleaning service is reinforced for the celebration of the May 2022 Festivities, which had without taking place two consecutive years due to the pandemic.
The Councilor for Public Services and the Environment, Carlos Tarife, explains that, with regard to personal and mechanical means, the service will be extraordinarily reinforced to provide an adequate service, according to the planned events.
During working days (April 27, 28, 29 and May 2), the service will be reinforced with a mixed washdown tank, a sweeper, four waste collection trucks and two commands, in addition to six drivers and seven laborers. swept.
On the other hand, during the holidays (Saturday, April 30, May 1 and 3), the reinforcement for the holidays will have four washdown teams, two sweepers, five waste collection trucks and four controls. For these specific dates, the reinforcement team will be made up of 11 drivers and 22 sweeping pawns.
“The commitment to cleanliness and hygiene of our streets by the council is evident, especially after recovering our parties and being able to offer spaces for enjoyment and leisure for our neighbors, neighbors and visitors,” says the mayor.
Carlos Tarife informs that, at the same time, ecological islands will be installed with containers for containers, paper and cardboard, rest and organics that will be located in the interior avenues of the García Sanabria Park, for which the waste collection service will be intensified. In addition, daily sweeps and washdowns will be carried out first thing in the morning in the perimeter areas.
Services will also be reinforced in the places where the flower cross contests are held, both on the Ramblas and in the neighbourhoods. Likewise, places such as Plaza de Candelaria and Los Lavaderos will have this assistance support.
The mayor of the capital highlights that special attention will be paid to the area of La Noria, where the Dance of the Magi will take place on May 2, carrying out washdowns prior to adaptation and later for cleaning. “A special service is planned after this event to leave the affected streets and the area of the tables in perfect condition in the shortest possible time, as was carried out at the end of the verbena in El Tablero last weekend,” he says. highlighted the councilman.
Finally, Carlos Tarife points out that Almáciga and its surroundings will also have a service reinforced by the passage of the procession and the celebration of the festival.
