Tenerife’s Cabildo has approved the funding for the second phase of the La Esperanza-Llano del Moro sewer system upgrade in El Rosario. The project is budgeted at €2,017,149.75 and is expected to take 15 months to complete.
The costs will be divided, with the Cabildo covering 90% and El Rosario’s municipality contributing the remaining 10%. The project will install a separate drainage system on Calle El Sino, effectively distinguishing between rainwater and wastewater, which will enhance the efficiency of local sewage systems and prevent overloads.
This upgrade aims to direct wastewater correctly to the general collector for treatment, addressing long-standing issues in the area. The separation of stormwater and sewage is standard in modernising urban networks and will facilitate better management of water volumes.
Once the contract is signed, the selected contractor will have 15 months to carry out the works.
