Stable Weather Forecast for Tenerife This Saturday
The State Meteorological Agency (Aemet) anticipates a stable day in Tenerife this Saturday, with mostly clear skies across much of the island, minimal temperature variations, and light to moderate northern winds.
In Santa Cruz de Tenerife, temperatures are expected to range from a minimum of 19 degrees to a maximum of 28 degrees, according to the official forecast.
Clouds in the North, Sun Elsewhere on Tenerife
The cloudiest weather will focus on the north of Tenerife, particularly in areas below 600 to 800 metres, where overcast skies are expected during the early hours of the day.
From the morning onward, cloud cover will begin to clear, leading to wide sunny spells. The rest of the island will experience predominantly clear skies, although brief episodes of cloud may occur in the south during the early morning.
Temperatures will remain largely unchanged, with minor drops in interior areas, particularly in mid-elevation zones.
Strong Winds in the Teide Summits
One of the key elements of the forecast will be the winds at the summits. Generally, winds will be light from the west; however, strong winds from the southwest are expected on the high peaks of Tenerife, with the likelihood of severe gusts.
Across the rest of the island, winds will be between light and moderate from the north, although they may strengthen in the afternoon in lower areas of the northwest and locally on the southern face of the metropolitan area.
Forecast for the Rest of the Canary Islands
Throughout the Archipelago, partly cloudy or clear skies will prevail, except in lower areas of the northern islands, where more cloud cover is expected during the early hours, with clearing during the midday.
Maximum temperatures are likely to decrease in inland areas, while winds will blow moderately from the north and intensify in exposed lower regions from the afternoon.
In Gran Canaria, temperatures could reach 30 degrees in mid-elevation and southern peaks. Meanwhile, Fuerteventura may also see local temperatures hitting 30 degrees in the southeast.
In Lanzarote and Fuerteventura, there will be periods of cloud cover on the northern and western coasts during the early morning and night, but with a predominance of mostly clear skies during the day. In La Gomera, La Palma, and El Hierro, cloudiness will be concentrated in the north during the early hours, clearing throughout the day.
In addition to the anticipated strong gusts on the high peaks of Tenerife, Aemet does not rule out intense winds in exposed areas of Gran Canaria, La Gomera, and El Hierro.
