
Closure of Roads and Paths in El Hierro as a Preventive Measure Ahead of Storm Therese
The Cabildo of El Hierro will begin closing roads and paths across the island this afternoon as a precautionary measure in response to Storm Therese. Starting at 16:00 today, the following closures will be implemented:
- HI-1, from El Castaño to the intersection with HI-120 (the road leading to the Jinama lookout);
- HI-40, from Vivero Viejo to La Llanía;
- HI-500, closed from El Pozo de La Salud (near the wastewater treatment plant);
- HI-45, which will be completely closed;
- HI-400, from Hoya del Gallego.
Additionally, the Jinama, San Salvador, La Llanía, and Sabinosa paths will be closed. Meanwhile, the Garoé tourist centre will be closed today, although the Julan Interpretation Centre will remain open. On Thursday, 19 March, both the Julan and Garoé centres, as well as the Ermita de la Virgen de Los Reyes, will also be closed.
