The IV Global Ondas Podcast Awards celebrated their fourth edition last night at the
Fernán Gómez Theatre in Madrid. The gala brought together the leading names in the sector from the
Spanish-speaking world. It was a tribute to the best projects and creators at the moment and to all the
professionals who bring this important cultural industry to life, which continues to grow.
Sastre & Maldonado; Criminopathy; It’s Not the End of the World; El Tigre; The Wild
Project; I’m Looking for You; Case 63: Enigma; HUMO: Murder and Silence in El Salvador; MARE; and La Ruina,
recognised for the second time as the best podcast of the year, having won the Ondas Award last November,
are among this year’s winners.
This edition was filled with talent, awarding three ex aequo prizes:
Laura Escanes (Between Heaven and the Clouds) and Santi Talledo (Cero Miligramos) for Best
Breakthrough Podcast; Pétrea, by PostaFM, and Simulacro, by El Extraordinario for Tourism of the Canary
Islands, for Best Branded Podcast; and Tamayazo. The Podcast, by RNE Audio, and La casa grande, by

All were selected from the 70 finalists announced by the specialised jury last
February, out of a total of 1,170 applications from 16 countries.
Notable attendees included political representatives such as Health Minister Mónica
García and Minister of Inclusion, Social Security and Migration Elma Saiz, who also presented the respective
awards for Best Script (ex aequo) to La Casa Grande, by Isabel Coello; and Best Production for Mar de
Rabia / Mare di Rabbia / Sea of Rage from the European production alliance WePod.

700 attendees enjoyed a gala hosted with great humour by Nerea Pérez de las Heras
and Samantha Hudson, with a script by Laura Márquez. The event featured live music, thanks to the performances
by Xoel López and Ángeles Toledano, who moved the audience with interpretations of Lodo and the version of
What a Beautiful Night by Las Grecas, respectively.
The event could be followed online via streaming on the YouTube channels of
Cadena SER, El País and the Ondas Awards.
Organised by PRISA Audio, Cadena SER and EL PAÍS, the awards were mainly sponsored
