Collision Between Bird and Plane Prompts Runway Inspection

An incident occurred on Tuesday morning at Tenerife South Airport when a bird collided with an aircraft, causing concern.

Following the incident, air traffic controllers had to halt approach operations for several aircraft until the runway could be inspected.

Consequently, several international flights, including two from Dublin and Newcastle, along with an inter-island flight, faced delays upon reaching the island.

Once the runway was cleared for use, operations resumed smoothly without further incidents.
