The final destination of this enlightening project, which has journeyed through various parts of the municipality throughout the week.
The ‘Healthy Guagua’ is a mobile educational resource by La Granja de Ideas, in collaboration with the Department of Education, Youth, and Substance Abuse Prevention of the La Laguna City Council. Its primary aim is to instil healthy eating habits among children and young people.
From Monday to Wednesday, between 9:30 a.m. and 2:10 p.m., the bus will welcome 1st, 2nd, and 3rd-grade students from local educational institutions. Exciting workshops, games, and recreational activities have been prepared to provide students with an enjoyable learning experience about the significance of a balanced diet and regular physical exercise,” mentioned Sergio Eiroa, the Councilor for Youth and Education.
Moreover, a delightful ‘fruit bar’ service has been arranged to offer the young participants a nutritious breakfast centred around fresh seasonal fruits.
The bus has already completed its rounds in several squares within the municipality, with stops earlier this week at the Tram, La Cuesta, San Luis Gonzaga, and Taco, before heading to the Plaza del Adelantado. Schools have been encouraged to attend, although the event is open to any children and young people interested in visiting.
“The arrival of this eye-catching double-decker English bus is certain to attract children and inspire them to incorporate more fruits and vegetables into their daily meals, among other healthy practices,” highlighted Eiroa.
