Adriana Pérez Martín, adorned in a design by Jesús Hernández and representing the Neighbourhood Association Vecindad 77 from the Barroso district, has been crowned as the queen of the patron saint festivities in La Orotava. She was chosen among 25 candidates. Monica Mesa Pérez, Claudia Díaz Martín, Gara García Ortiz, and Alejandra Escobar Hernández are the maids of honour, in that order.
The gala, overseen by David Hernández, featured performances by Cristina Ramos and the Miss Group in front of over a thousand attendees. La Orotava kicks off its grand week of celebrations today, which includes a recital by Los Sabandeños, starting at 9:30 PM today at Franchi Alfaro square, and the opening speech tomorrow at 8:30 PM.
