Starting from today, Thursday, until this Sunday, the Tenerife Fairgrounds is hosting the ‘Renew Home 2024’ Exhibition. A total of 80 companies and 170 booths related to the construction and renovation sector are participating in this event.
The exhibition was visited today, Thursday, by the Cabildo’s president and vice president, Rosa Dávila and Lope Afonso; the Fairgrounds’ vice president, Manuel Fernández; the Canary Islands’ Government General Director of Economic Promotion, Alexis Oliva, and the president of Fepeco, Óscar Izquierdo.
Various representatives from public administrations and entities such as Femete, CEOE, the Chamber of Commerce, and business groups from the south of the island also attended the event.
Cabildo’s president, Rosa Dávila, highlighted that this initiative “demonstrates to the entire population the potential of the construction sector as an economic driver and its importance for the island of Tenerife”. She also added, “this event showcases aspects such as innovation, sustainability, and modernization, making it a platform to discover the most innovative solutions for those individuals looking to renovate their homes.”
Fairgrounds’ vice president and Minister of Industry, Manuel Fernández, expressed satisfaction with the positive reception this inaugural event has received from companies in the sector. He emphasized that the aim is to promote and facilitate sales in the area of renovations and home improvement in general.
Manuel Fernández noted that “one of the primary focuses of the island government during this term is the revitalization of all economic sectors in Tenerife, with construction historically being a key pillar of the island’s economy.”
Fernández also announced the availability of a booth set up by the public company Sinpromi, named ‘A House for Life’, showcasing a 100% accessible home for visitors. The objective is to promote universal accessibility in homes.
The Canary Islands’ Government General Director of Economic Promotion, Alexis Oliva, commented that “this exhibition symbolizes one of the most productive sectors of our economy, which is closely linked to people’s quality of life.” This sentiment was echoed by FEPECO’s president, Óscar Izquierdo, who highlighted that “construction creates 60,000 direct jobs in the Canary Islands, underscoring the sector’s potential as a driving force for other economic sectors.”
‘Renew Home 2024’ offers visitors a one-stop location for enclosures and awnings, painting, swimming pools, kitchens, bathrooms, flooring, gardening, automatic doors, aluminium and glassware, furniture and décor, home automation, solar panels, water purification systems, prefabricated houses, alarm systems, real estate services, as well as surveyors, architects, and independent professionals who can provide guidance on projects or aid in project financing.
The first edition of this exhibition spans 12,000 square meters of exhibition space and offers free admission. This event aims to meet the increasing demand for such exhibitions in recent years, given the sector’s growth and the clients’ needs for a convenient platform to explore, gather information, compare, and engage different suppliers required for their projects.
‘Renew Home’ is being organised by the Cabildo of Tenerife and the island’s Fair Institution, with the collaboration of the Provincial Federation of Construction Entities of Santa Cruz de Tenerife (Fepeco).
