The Arona Gran Hotel hosted the third edition of ‘Gastrolovers’, one of those dining experiences that diners remember forever. A feast of flavours guided by the culinary expertise of the award-winning chef Maca de Castro at an event that allowed guests to enjoy a unique and exclusive tasting menu, paired with wines from two great wineries: Privat and Viñátigo. All of this was accompanied by live music and the sunset of southern Tenerife. A complete experience for lovers of good food, fresh and quality produce, and culinary creativity.
The menu featured a liquid bean salad, followed by a skewer of cured olive. The second dish presented was ‘pine nut pine’, a pine meringue with nasturtium leaf, oyster, and pine nut mochi. The menu continued with a warm lettuce salad with quail, marinated before indulging in the benefits of the sea with salted skate with sea fennel hollandaise. The main dishes concluded with ‘matanzas’ potato, a rose-shaped potato with almond, sobrasada, and verbena. Finally, as a sweet element, guests could enjoy an acorn parfait.
This menu reflects the chef’s clear commitment to the value of her produce, awarded with one Michelin star, one green Michelin star, and three Repsol suns in her already extensive professional career.
Gastrolovers, a dynamic project
Spring Hotels has already carried out three editions of Gastrolovers, where guests have been able to enjoy the work of nationally and internationally renowned chefs on the island. This project is part of the hotel chain’s policy in the south of the island to offer innovative options that complement their guests’ stay.
Yaiza González, Product Director at Spring Hotels, notes that “it has been a real success in terms of participation”, both from tourists staying with us at the hotel and locals who didn’t want to miss the opportunity to attend a different and magical experience. She also emphasizes that “we will continue to work on offering valuable alternatives to people who trust Spring Hotels to enjoy a holiday in our archipelago. The Gastrolovers project is more alive than ever and we hope to have news soon for 2024”.
