The Teya Ramos Trophy is back. After a whole year of waiting to enjoy with the best female wrestlers of the archipelago, in the format of island selections, the youth competition will start this Friday at the Santiago García Cejas arena in the capital of La Palma.
The team from La Palma, hosts and reigning champions of the trophy, aim to retain the title for the first time in the history of the competition. This is something that the rest of the island selections will try to prevent, as they arrive at this event with the best feelings, after months of training with their teammates, following the completion of the various domestic tournaments and having already completed four rounds in the Liga DISA Gobierno de Canarias.
Fight schedules
In this third edition, we will see the teams from La Palma, Lanzarote, and Gran Canaria in Group A, as well as Tenerife and Fuerteventura in Group B. The competition will kick off from 10:00 on Friday, April 5th, with the fight between La Palma and Gran Canaria. The morning session will continue with the match between the teams of Tenerife and Fuerteventura. Closing this first day will be the clash between Gran Canaria and Lanzarote at 18:00. From 10:00 on Saturday the sixth, the tournament will resume with the showdown between Lanzarote and La Palma, which will conclude the group stage.
In the afternoon, the competition will change locations, with the semifinals taking place from 17:00 at the Antonio Piñero Concepción. The same arena will host the final, to be held on Sunday starting at 10:30 in the morning.

The tournament will be organised by the Sports Service of the La Palma Island Council in collaboration with the Canarian Wrestling Federation. The support of the Government of the Canary Islands, Santa Cruz de La Palma City Council, Viajes Insular, and Cicar has been crucial for the realization of an event that continues to highlight the significant contribution of women to our Canarian Wrestling.
