Passengers travelling on Saturday, 30th March, along the route covering the 41 kilometres (8.4 leagues) that separate La Gomera and Tenerife aboard Fred.Olsen, had a big scare. Despite the calmness expected during the journey, moments after leaving the port, passengers witnessed one of the vehicles on the ship falling into the sea and slowly sinking.

Footage recorded by the passengers shows a dark-coloured car in the middle of the sea.

The causes of the incident are currently unknown, although the company is already conducting an internal investigation.

Coincidentally, around a year and a half ago, a similar situation occurred on another journey by the same company along the same route. At that time, it involved a vehicle with first-class passengers, who are the first to board and occupy parking spaces in the cargo hold closest to the entrance and exit ramp.
