Celebrated both during the day and at night, Piñata Saturday stands as one of the most eagerly awaited days of the Santa Cruz de Tenerife Carnival. For many, it marks the conclusion of the festivities, leaving them yearning for the following year. However, on Piñata Sunday, enthusiasts of the world’s greatest carnival can continue their enjoyment.
At 11:00, the Plaza del Príncipe will be the venue for the traditional concerts by NiFú NiFá, followed by La Zarzuela at 12:00.
From 4:30 p.m. on Piñata Sunday, the Plaza de la Candelaria is set to host the inaugural edition of the Senior Carnival of the Canary Islands, organized by the Capital City Council and the Department of Social Welfare of the Canary Islands Government, with hopes of continuing the event in the coming years.
The afternoon will be set to the rhythm of Decada Prodigiosa and Orquesta Tenerife, with Maestro Florido leading the humor segment. The event anticipates around 400 seniors from all the islands in attendance.
The Senior Carnival will draw to a close at around 7:30 p.m., making way for the performance by the Banda Loca orchestra from 8:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m.
As the Festivities come to an end, a firework display will bid farewell to the Carnival. It is at this moment that the topic chosen by popular vote for the next edition will be announced.
