MetroTenerife is set to maintain its special reinforcement for Carnival during the Piñata weekend by having double trams on Line 1 running every 10 minutes. However, the service may be affected by the strike of its workers.

During nighttime services, the frequency of trams will vary between 12 and 15 minutes, and services will conclude at the La Paz stop from 9:00 p.m. onwards.

Day Carnival

For the Day Carnival, Line 1 will extend its route to the Guimerá Theater stop from 9:00 a.m. on both Saturday the 17th and Sunday the 18th. Double trams will operate every ten minutes throughout Piñata Saturday.

The same double tram service to the Guimerá Theater will be repeated the following day, Sunday the 18th, for the End of the Festival, with a 15-minute frequency from early morning until midnight.

Night Service

Double trams will continuously operate on the nights of Friday the 16th and Saturday the 17th, running every 12 and 15 minutes from 9:00 p.m. La Paz will be the final stop for Line 1 during the night, with a special security team, including the National Police, inspectors, maintenance personnel from Metrotenerife, and cleaning staff.

For safety reasons, the Puente Zurita stop will be out of service, as it has been in previous years.

Worker’s Strike

As with the previous week, the service will be occasionally affected by the strike periods scheduled by the company’s workers, approximately two hours in the mornings and another two in the afternoons. Metrotenerife guarantees that trams will continue to operate during these times under the decreed minimum services of 80% or 60% depending on demand.
