It was reported by Maritime Rescue sources that a cayuco carrying 79 sub-Saharan migrants arrived at the port of Los Cristianos, in the southern region of Tenerife, this Monday, accompanied by the Salvamar Alpheratz.
The boat was spotted by a fisherman in the Costa Adeje area, near the Bahía del Duque hotel. After receiving medical attention at the pier, it was discovered that 71 men, three women, and five children were on board.
This marks the third canoe arrival in the Canary Islands since Sunday night. During that time, a vessel carrying 48 people was rescued more than 31 kilometers from Gran Canaria, followed by another canoe, carrying 141 sub-Saharan migrants, which was escorted to the port of Los Cristianos.
Moreover, on Sunday afternoon, the Civil Guard and Maritime Rescue saved 306 individuals aboard three boats near the coast of El Hierro.
