The Cabildo of Tenerife has put on public display the project for the execution of the direct lanes that will give access to the Güímar Industrial Estate to alleviate “significant” traffic in the areawhich has an investment of 2.2 million euros.
The Official Gazette of Santa Cruz de Tenerife (BOP) has published it in its Monday edition, and The planned actions will consist of the modification of the branches and the construction of two new direct links to the industrial estate.
As reported by the corporation this Tuesday, The project will remain on public display for a period of 20 business dayscounting from the day following its publication in the Official Gazette of the Province.
The project, explains the Cabildo, proposes executing several direct lanes in the roundabouts of the Arafo interchange: on the one hand, a lane straight from TF-281 to TF-1 southboundin addition to another direct lane from the TF-1 (Santa Cruz) towards the El Carretón Industrial Estate.
On the coastal slope, you can also see dThe lanes from the Polígono Valle de Güímar towards the TF-1 (direction Santa Cruz), in addition to a direct lane from the TF-1 (South) towards the Polygon.
In the statement, the Minister of Mobility, Eulalia Garciaexplained that the successive expansions of the Polígono Valle de Güímar have caused traffic to increase “very significantly.”
The Cabildo refers to the latest additions of commercial surfaces in the Güímar Industrial Estate, as well as in the new El Carretón industrial estate, which, due to not having its own access and exit roads to the highway, have led to traffic being “frequently collapsed.”
Hence, the institution states, the action on the link is “important”, with the aim of “providing it with direct links that relieve part of the traffic load that the two existing roundabouts receive.”
