La Gomera encourages consumption in restaurants and bars on the island with the launch of the Tapa Route ‘El Buen Yantar’ between September 21 and 28, which will allow consumers to take a gastronomic tour of the different establishments of the island, as well as enjoy live cooking demonstrations.
The island president, Casimiro Curbelo, positively valued this project “which aims to highlight local gastronomy, while promoting consumption in restaurants and bars throughout the island.” In this way, he announced that the different tapas will be made with local and seasonal products, offered along with a drink, for the price of four euros.
Curbelo highlighted that “this initiative benefits both businessmen and customers, since participation brings prizes for the best tapa, and raffles among people who dare to tour the different establishments.”
For her part, the Minister of Commerce, María Isabel Méndez, explained that the Tapa Route will begin this Thursday, September 21, in bars and restaurants in the municipalities of Hermigua and Agulo.
On Monday, September 25 and Tuesday, September 26, in the Plaza de El Carmen in Playa de Santiago (Alajeró) and in the Plaza de La Constitución in Vallehermoso, respectively, you can enjoy live cooking exhibitions, starting at 6:30 p.m. hours. Already on Wednesday, September 27, the Route will begin in Valle Gran Rey, to end its route on Thursday, September 28, in San Sebastián.
In order to energize each day of participation, the streets will be animated by the music group Ecoss de La Gomera, which will perform in the culinary exhibitions and will take a traveling route between the different participating businesses, which will be announced in the coming days. .
ROUTE OPERATION
The delegate of the Chamber of Commerce of Santa Cruz de Tenerife in La Gomera, Jennifer Morales, explained that customers who participate in the ‘El Buen Yantar’ Tapa Route will be able to serve as a popular jury when awarding the prizes to the best tapa, whose award will be a financial reward of 300 euros to one establishment per municipality.
To carry out this assessment, consumers will be able to collect a ballot from the City Council offices, the Tourism offices of San Sebastián, Valle Gran Rey and Playa Santiago, and from the Delegation of the Chamber of Commerce in San Sebastián. stake.
At the time of consumption, they must deliver it to the participating bar or restaurant for it to be sealed, until it can be refilled. Once completed, they will have to indicate their favorite tapa and deliver it to the same physical points. With this, the consumer will be able to formalize their participation in the Route, and will be entered into three draws for two nights in a hotel with breakfast included.
