United States, preferred tourist destination for Tenerife

The vice president and advisor of Tourism of the Cabildo of Tenerife, Lope Afonsosaid this Saturday that USA of North America is confirmed as a preferred destination for the Island.

This was conveyed through a statement in which he reported that five American journalists are familiar with the Island these days. He also explained that they collaborate with media outlets such as USA Today, Esquire or Wine Enthusiastamong others.

In it, it has been pointed out that the link with the sending destination has been reinforced with actions through attendance at fairs and the intention to expand the airline that connects the Tenerife Sur airport with New York.

“In recent years, the number of visitors has increased by up to 76% prior to the pandemic, and we are seeking to consolidate that issuing market,” added Lope Afonso.

The CEO of Tenerife Tourism, Dimple Melwani, highlights “the work of positioning the destination in the North American market, achieving an increase in results that manages to capture interest in Tenerife through knowledge of its potential.”

Melwani adds that “the objective is to continue advancing in this field, consolidating the commitment of the airline United Airlines with its direct flight to Tenerife, reactivating passenger traffic to the island.”
