The Route of the Tapa “Kilometer 0”held from July 13 to 30, and in which 77 establishments participated gastronomic from the capital of Tenerife, already has winners. This was reported by the CEO of the Development Society, Carmen Pérez, who explained that “for more than two weeks, residents and tourists had the opportunity to take a culinary tour of the entire city, through the tapas made with ingredients of local origin and/or from the islands, which were fused with the creativity of each establishment and which has turned out to be a complete success”.
Pérez pointed out that “on this occasion, we once again have a webapp that has once again proven to be an effective and useful promotional tool. Proof of this are the almost 18,000 visits obtained, the more than 8,800 registered unique users, and the more than 2,500 added votes to determine the winning gastronomic proposals of this edition” and added that “in addition, this webapp has provided users with immediate access to detailed information on participating establishments and their culinary offerings.”
He first place fell on La Casita de Nazareno with the tapa ‘La Casita, a tapa with a roll’he second place it was for 2 Degrees Celsius with the tapa ‘Orange salmon toast with curried vegetables’and the third establishment most voted was Bahía Cafeteria with the cover ‘¡Ños!! The goat got enrisóand that in addition to receiving an accrediting diploma, they will be promoted on the social networks of the Degusta Santa Cruz Anaga Smart Destination Product Club.
“The Tapa Route ‘Kilometer 0’ was focused on elaborations with the products of kilometer 0and in particular, with those coming from the Anaga Massif, the island of Tenerife and/or the Canary Islands” stressed Carmen Pérez, who also recalled that “the restaurant sector is one of the main economic engines of the municipality and With initiatives like this we intend to boost consumption, while we promote and value the local product, not only among the chicharrero public but also among the thousands of visitors who come to Santa Cruz every day”.
“From the Development Society work is underway on three other gastronomic routes that will be held in the capital of Tenerife before the end of the year. They will be thematic and soon we will present the first one, which will take place in September. In his presentation we will take the opportunity to deliver the prizes for the ‘Kilometer 0’ Tapa route, both to the managers of the establishments and the prize to the clientele”, Pérez pointed out.
This initiative is included in Line of Action 10 Anaga Smart Destination of the Sustainable and Integrated Urban Development Strategy “Anaga en el corazón – Santa Cruz de Tenerife”, co-financed by the European Regional Development Fund (FEDER), within the framework of the Plurirregional Operational Program of Spain (POPE) 2014 – 2020, and by the City Council of the capital of Tenerife.
