Maritime Rescue has rescued 121 migrants this Friday of sub-Saharan origin who were trying to reach Gran Canaria aboard two canoes, one with 64 people, including a woman, and the other with 57, all men, bringing the number of rescued that day to 181.
As reported to EFE by the state company, throughout the morning, about 13 kilometers south of Gran Canaria, uA recreational boat notified Salvamento that he had sighted the barge, so the salvamar Macondo was mobilized to bring the 64 people to safety.
After rescuing the occupants of this vessel, and on the way back to the pier Arguineguinthe salvamar sighted the other canoe and proceeded to rescue the 57 people on board.
Apparently in good health
All the migrants were in apparent good health. and they arrived at the port of Arguineguín around 12 in the morning, local time.
Hours before, Salvage had moved up port of Los Cristianos, in Tenerife to 60 occupantsalso of sub-Saharan origin, from a cayuco that was located by a ship about 11 kilometers from the Island.
