Of the five proposals submitted to design the comprehensive remodeling project of the Airport Tenerife South, which will involve an investment of more than 300 million euros, only two have passed the latest technical evaluation. This was reported by Aena, whose Board of Directors plans to approve the award of technical assistance and drafting of the project this month.
Specifically, and as indicated Aenahave passed the aforementioned evaluation, after the opening of the economic offers and in accordance with the criteria established in the tender, the UTE (Temporary Business Union) Prointec/Efebearquitectura and WSP Spain-Apia, with proposals of more than 3.9 and 4.1 million eurosrespectively.
Aena recalls that it is about the tender for the Technical Assistance file for Drafting the Project and Technical Assistance for Architecture for the comprehensive remodeling of the terminal area of the Tenerife Sur Airport.

After reviewing the documentation provided by the five companies that were selected last December “for their experience in similar projects”, the technical and architectural proposals of the aforementioned two joint ventures are those that have exceeded the criteria established by Aena for this action. . “The comprehensive remodeling is one more step in Aena’s commitment to the Tenerife South Airport, after inaugurating its largest expansion in May 2022.”
The technical assistance that Aena will award is broken down into the following services: drafting of the project that defines the actions that must be carried out to completely remodel the airport terminal area and architectural advice to the construction management during the execution of the works.
“These files are part of the ambitious comprehensive remodeling project of the terminal area of the Tenerife South Airport, which will be included in the DORA III proposal and which will involve an estimated initial investment of more than 300 million euros,” says Aena.
The Spanish public company, in charge of the management of airports of general interest in the country, adds that this project will mean the integration of the entire terminal area of the Tenerife facility, “both from the architectural point of view and with the environment itself”. .

Among the planned improvements, and pending the drafting of the final project, are the ordering and execution of new car parks and accesses; the review of urbanization and landscaping; the adequacy of the baggage reclaim hall; the expansion of the billing and boarding areas, or the incorporation of more commercial services.
