The Department of Sustainable City of Puerto de la Cruz has started a project to condition and recover Los Cachazos, a green space of 21,000 square meters located in the area of El Durazno. The goal set is turn this environment into a new eco-park for community, sports and leisure use.
To this end, a multidisciplinary team of eleven people has been hired, including an architect, an agronomist and a graduate in Environmental Sciences, as well as other construction and gardening profiles, who will work over the next nine months through a grant from the Council for the promotion of employment and the SDGs in the municipalities.
Among the actions to be carried out is the design, writing and projection of the eco-park, in addition to carrying out the first phase of the works, where the first steps of action are contemplated, cleaning of the invasive vegetation that alters the ecosystem, as well as the land leveling.
In addition to the councils of Sustainable City and Employmentin the project of Ecopark Los Cachazos The Department of Citizen Participation will have a leading role, which will lead a participatory process to collect proposals and neighborhood demands from residents. This will be one of the challenges that will be developed in coordination with the student body and the management team of the training program in alternation with employment Pfae Puerto Dinamiza 2022.

“The project with a participatory nature will collect, in the coming months, the neighborhood proposals and demands so that the Los Cachazos ecopark is the one decided by the residents of the area and the citizens of Porto, in general”, underlines the councilor, María Jesús Hernandez.
