Arico Somos Todos sees a PSOE-PP pact more than likely

“Although there is a paralysis in the Government group of the City Council, given the uncertainty of the more than probable agreement between the PSOE and the PP, this situation is not going to stop us in the commitment that we have acquired with the neighbors to work from the first minute , and solve the serious problems that our town of Arico has”, says José Luis Hervella, councilor, together with Josefa García, from Arico Somos Todos, the new formation that achieved representation in the last 28M elections.

Hervella, despite acknowledging that they held two meetings very close to the PSOE, the list with the most votes, with 6 of the 13 councillors, suspects that “the blank vote of the PP has not been well explained and there has been a tense calm after the election of Olivia Delgado as mayoress, in a minority. We intuit that there is an agreement between the PSOE and the two PP councillors, and that they will not reveal it until after the general elections on July 23”, commented the AST spokesman in Onda Tenerife. He explained that “the neighbors are not understanding this lack of transparency, this uncertainty”, while clarifying that “we do not rule out sitting down again with the PSOE, which can be said to have been generous with us.” He ruled out that they handle a motion of censure, insisting that “the chairs do not move us and without motions of censure things can also be changed.”

In this sense, the two councilors of Arico Somos Todos (AST) registered on Tuesday at the Arico City Hall, a written request to have access to the file of the Villa de Arico square. At the same time, they have requested an interview with the technicians assigned to the Technical Office to learn first-hand all the details of a work that started in November 2016 with an execution period of 18 months, and that has been stopped for seven years.

Both Hervella and García are going to continue their work “whatever happens”, making themselves available to any neighbor or group that “needs us to have a voice within the City Council and to be heard”. The two AST councilors are eager to access the square’s file and verify its administrative situation, as well as the debt that the City Council still carries with the builder who won the execution contest. “The work in the plaza has been a clear example of the lack of dialogue to solve problems. From the insult, the noise and the complaint in the courts before all the politicians sit down and look for solutions. Well, very well, if we have to do it, we will do it”.

Delgado: “We are working to set up a summer camp”

The Arico City Council, from the area of Social Welfare and Education, is focusing all efforts to offer a summer camp in a short period of time, since “since the change of government took place, just ten days ago, and to verify that there was nothing planned in relation to this activity for this date, we have started to work to get this project out for our boys and girls as soon as possible, taking into account that we have to hire it and make the tender,” said Mayor Olivia Slim.

Likewise, the councilor remarked that “the course ended a few days ago and fathers and mothers need to plan educational, leisure and sports days during their workday. For this reason, for this government, it is a commitment to get this activity out as soon as possible for the peace of mind of families and regularize contracts.
