The Town Hall of the Historic Village of Santiago del Teide informs that until 1:00 p.m. on July 19, the period for submitting the works that will compete in the VII Literary Contest “Lyrical Letters of Santiago 2023”, which can be attended by all those adults who wish to do so, residents of Spain, as long as they present the works in Spanish, original and unpublished, not published in any format in whole or in part (including the Internet), not awarded or pending ruling in other contests or awaiting a response in an editorial process. Failure to comply with this first base automatically disqualifies the participant.
The subject will be free, emphasizing that a “Special Award” to the work whose content takes into account any of the many outstanding aspects -landscape, ethnographic, etc.- of Santiago del Teide; Although the first prize may go to a work that is recreated in the municipality, apart from the Special Prize.
Regarding the deadline for the delivery of works, this will be until 1:00 p.m. on Friday, July 19 -peninsular Spanish time-while the jury’s decision will be announced on July 25highlighting that the winners will be summoned to the institutional award ceremony, which will be held coinciding with the feast of Santiago Apóstol.
For the mode of “Tale”, The work must have a maximum extension of 6 pages and a minimum of 4 pages; while the modality “Poetry” It must have a maximum length of 200 verses and a minimum of 25 verses. Finally, the mode of “Loah” It will have a maximum length of 75 verses and a minimum of 25 verses.
As for the prizes, each of the modalities of the contest will be awarded:

In the same way, the original work must be typed double-spaced, using an “Arial”, “Times New Roman” or similar font at 12 points, and must have a document format A-4 size on one side. The original of the work will be presented only in digital format through the digital platform “worldarti.com”. A PDF must be attached with the anonymous literary work and fill in the personal data (enforcement); highlighting that submissions that include drawings, photos, external links or any type of decoration other than the text will not be accepted.
Finally, it should be noted that the jury will be chaired by the Councilor for Culture of the Santiago del Teide City Council and will have people related to and qualified in literary art as members; although a technician from the Department of Culture will act as secretary of the jury.
