Emilio Navarro, proclaimed mayor of Santiago del Teide for the third consecutive term

Emilio José Navarro Castanedo has been proclaimed Mayor of the Town Hall of the Historic Village of Santiago del Teide for the third consecutive legislature after the constitution plenary session of the new municipal government that was held this Saturday, June 17, in the central courtyard of the town hall building.

After the constitution of the Board of Age, made up of the oldest and youngest councillors, María Raquel Paz Hernández and David Salvador Quintero Pérez, respectively, the accreditation of the elected councilors before the Board of Age took place, through the comparison of the credential issued by the Zone Electoral Board and the DNI.

Subsequently, each elected councilor was sworn in or promised his position. Next, the 17 elected councilors proceeded to vote for the election of the Mayor, being Emilio Navarro, elected by the 13 votes of the Popular Party, the new Mayor of the Town Hall of the Historic Village of Santiago del Teide for the next 4 years.

After taking the oath of office, Emilio Navarro Castanedo addressed those attending the official act of inauguration of the new local government. The mayor, in his third inauguration speech, stated that “on this very important and special day for our municipality I feel deeply moved by all the expressions of affection and support; It is, without a doubt, the beginning of a new legislature in which we will continue to strive to continue fulfilling our main purpose for 8 years, which is none other than to build a Santiago del Teide that continues to advance for the well-being of our people”.
