SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, May 12. (EUROPE PRESS) –
The candidate of Ciudadanos for the Cabildo de Tenerife, Enrique Arriaga, has affirmed that the next “will be the mandate of the works after, in this, launching projects.” “We have been creating a well-defined roadmap for four years in which we have promoted the necessary initiatives for the development of Tenerife, now is the time to materialize them,” he explained.
During the presentation of his electoral program, Enrique Arriaga pointed out that the main objectives of his candidacy are to improve island mobility, build the infrastructures that the people of Tenerife need, offer opportunities for young people, regulate access to housing and take innovation as a economic opportunity.
“Mobility is a historical demand on the part of the people of Tenerife and we are committed to improving it. Without occurrences or chimeras, we do not want to make promises that remain in the air, instead we offer proposals that adapt to the reality of our island “Arriaga said. In this sense, he pointed out that public transport plays a fundamental role in improving mobility, with “the construction of the Tren del Sur, the creation of new tram lines or the rearrangement of bus lines”.
“Another of our priorities is to move forward with those infrastructures that for decades have been denied to us, such as the hospitals in the South and North or the Circuito del Motor, in addition to improving existing ones, such as our ports and airports. This is the only way to to achieve the development of Tenerife and to achieve a balanced island between the metropolitan area, the north and the south”, added the liberal candidate.
“Young people are our tomorrow and we must take care of them accordingly. To do this, we have to implement employment plans, scholarships and improve their training so that they can access the job market once they finish their studies. We must not let talent go outside for lack of opportunities, we must attract him”, remarked Arriaga.
Linked to this, he also stressed the importance of facilitating access to housing. “We want young people and families to be able to choose the place to live and we propose measures such as subsidizing 100% of the Property Transfer Tax or advancing 10% of their pension to young people to buy their first home,” he said. .
On the other hand, he explained that innovation must be a commitment to the future: “Tenerife is a land of opportunities for the technology industry, which can make us a place of attraction for investment. We must strengthen our spaces dedicated to technological fields to attract companies that create jobs and develop new market niches, this is another of our priority points”.
During the presentation, the need to promote sports and disseminate traditions, to promote a sustainability plan that gives priority to renewable energies or to increase the social services provided to our elderly or people with disabilities was also discussed.
