SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, 17 Apr. (EUROPE PRESS) –

The TLP Tenerife organization has announced the cancellation of its 2023 edition due to the lack of support from the Island Council and has explained that it has been forced to make this difficult decision due to the lack of availability of the Fairgrounds during the months of May, June, July and September.

The organization has indicated in a statement that despite the fact that the possibility of holding TLP was proposed just the weekend after another event of similar characteristics, the organization decided to reject this option so as not to harm said event.

The cancellation of TLP Tenerife 2023, according to its promoters, “represents a great loss for the island’s cultural and leisure offer, as well as for the community of young people and fans from all over the Canary Islands who were looking forward to the arrival of the event”, and They add that they are aware of the concern among suppliers and local businesses that benefited from the economic impact generated by the event.

The TLP Tenerife organization has stated that the cancellation is a “difficult and painful” decision but that they hope to be able to celebrate TLP Tenerife again in the future with the support of the institutions and the community. In addition, it ensures that it will continue working to guarantee the continuity of the event and explore new forms of financing and institutional support. From the organization it is expected that in the future the Cabildo de Tenerife will change its mind and collaborate again in future editions of the event.

The promoters of the event stress that the cancellation of TLP Tenerife 2023 is a “great loss” for the technology and entertainment community in the Canary Islands and a wasted opportunity to foster interest and creativity in this field. In turn, they wish to express their gratitude to all the sponsors, collaborators and attendees for their support and understanding and hope to be able to count on them in future editions of the event.
