SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, 11 Apr. (EUROPE PRESS) –
Visocan has advocated making more subsidized housing available to families, with very affordable rents as a solution, since it would allow current market prices to be regulated and become cheaper.
The public company ensures that the problem with rental prices, which are currently unaffordable for many families, is that there is not enough subsidized housing on the market.
In addition, it is pointed out that the demand comes from a family profile that, even with a reasonable income, cannot access the private market due to the escalation of prices that have occurred in recent years.
For this reason, Visocan is developing the provision of subsidized housing on the islands, through public service programs such as Empty Housing
The objective of the ‘Canary Islands Empty Housing Program’ is to capture empty free housing, to be made available to families in need of housing, also promoting the economic recovery of the Canary Islands.
The winners will be families with limited financial resources, applicants for Officially Protected Housing (VPO), on a rental basis, registered, as a prior and essential condition, in the Register of Applicants for Protected Housing of the Canary Islands.
Families that access these homes will pay a rental income, which in no case will exceed 30% of their annual gross income, with a minimum lease period of 3 years, extendable to 7.
Owners of vacant vacant homes interested in incorporating them into this program must request it in writing to Visocan (always through the website https://programaviendavacia.visocan.es) who, in a case of three months, will prepare a report on the state of the properties with a favorable or unfavorable valuation.
During the lease period, Visocan will pay the monthly rent to the property from the arrival of the first tenant until the end of the contract and return of the home.
The properties offered must have an equipped kitchen, cooktop, sink, washing machine, refrigerator and fully equipped bathroom in perfect working order.
The ‘Empty Housing’ homes must be used at their habitual address, taking into account that when the lease period ends, Visocan will deliver the properties to their owners in the same state of conservation in which they were received.
