With 1,600 square meters of useful area, The Civic Center of Las Galletas will come into operation in the next few days. Located at the corner of Central and Luis Álvarez Cruz streets, its construction required an investment of 1.3 million euros. It is a building of four floors that house an assembly hall, with a stage of more than 60 square meters and dressing rooms and services; a library, dance and rehearsal venues, multipurpose rooms, a space for children and another for the elderly, workshop and computer rooms, among others. “It will undoubtedly be an important pillar of commercial revitalization,” says the mayor of Arona, José Julián Mena.
occupying a plot of 452 square meters and “it will be a great boost for Las Galletas.” It will be “an important cultural and economic lung for the town,” says the municipal government. A statement that supports the fact that citizens will have access to all the cultural action organized by the Municipal Corporation and that, in addition, by carrying out the activity designed for the center “it will generate an economic impact in the rest of the sectors, promoting the commercial revitalization of the zone”.

This project is part of the plan Arona Advances, promoted by the mayor of which the Councilor for Works, Julia Raquel Morales, said that it provides more and better public services to Las Galletas, “with facilities that provide support for citizen action and the provision of cultural and training services, which They serve as an engine of social, economic change and citizen participation.
Since the previous mandate, the Arona City Council “works to promote the renovation of Las Galletas and provide this important coastal nucleus with modern and quality public services”, in the case of the reform of the Paulino Suances square or the Arona Business Center, which has become the place of reference for businessmen, entrepreneurs and the self-employed in the municipality.
