The executive or flavor of Nueva Canarias (NC) approved this Saturday, in an extraordinary session and unanimously, the candidacy of the president, Román Rodríguez, for the Presidency of the Government of the Canary Islands in the elections on May 28 by being designated as number one of the Canarian constituency.
The national leadership authorized the heads of the list of 70 global candidacies, including those of the Parliament for the islands, the councils and the town halls. The electoral program that defines, with proposals, a country project, with present and future, was also approved.
The leader of the progressive canaristas informed of the agreements adopted by the flavor related to the next appointment with the polls. The Parliament, in the Canary constituency and, therefore, candidate for the Presidency of the Government, will be headed by Román Rodríguez.
For the island of Gran Canaria to the Legislative, Carmen Hernández will be the head of the electoral plate. For Fuerteventura, Natalia Santana. For Lanzarote, Yone Caraballo. In Tenerife, Daniel Diaz. In La Palma, Maeve Sanjuán. While, in La Gomera and El Hierro, the final decision is pending.
To the councils, the president in Gran Canaria, Antonio Morales, will be eligible for re-election. The number one in Fuerteventura will be Matías Peña. In Lanzarote, Oscar Noda. The president of NC affirmed that the canarianism of progress is, at present, “in the best” conditions to face an appointment with the polls, in its 18-year history.
