‘Tajea’ begins, a job placement project for women

The Adeje City Council and the Cabildo develop the Tajea project, a free registration initiative (in the Costa Adeje Tourist Development Center) whose objective is the labor insertion of women with employability difficulties.

The project includes job orientation tutorials and personalized insertion itineraries. The technical and political teams mediate before companies for the insertion and professional information for employment, in addition to offering the users of the project all the necessary information for the active search for employment or self-employment. Another of the actions contemplated is the development of personal aspects (digital skills, teamwork, equal opportunities, etc.), as well as professional training in warehouse maid, forklift truck and handling of phytosanitary products. The purpose is to contribute to improving the employability of the beneficiaries.

For the Councilor for Ecological Transition, Land Management, Development and Employment, Manuel Luis Méndez Martín, “from the City Council we develop specific projects and programs for various sectors of the population, in this way we cover both youth and middle-age , people with little training or who are going through difficult times. The mayor considers that “each program must be seen as a part of the total that we promote from the area and with which we want to reach the entire population that needs it.”

Potential beneficiaries

Through the Tenerife Violeta Strategic Framework and the areas of Employment and Equality Policies, this action is part of the program to promote the labor insertion of women with diverse realities. These are realities that aggravate the difficulties in finding employment, citing as examples the cases of women who find themselves in a situation of gender violence, or women who are immigrants or from ethnic minorities, women with family responsibilities alone or with functional diversity. The project is also aimed at rural women, transsexuals, prostitutes or immersed in addictions, social exclusion or ex-convicts.
