SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, March 27 (EUROPA PRESS) –
The president of the PP of the Canary Islands, Manuel Domínguez, affirmed this Monday that the new Minister of Tourism, Commerce and Tourism, Héctor Gómez, does not have “good allies” in the Canary Islands and hopes that at least his appointment “will not be an obstacle”. to relaunch tourism development in the archipelago.
In statements to Europa Press, he congratulates him “personally” because he has “friendship” with him “and it is fair” but he understands that “he does not have much to do” because the appointment comes with a Government “in discount time and extension” .
He has indicated that this ministry is “extremely important” for the islands and regretted that neither the PSOE nor its “allies” are “going to help” him, since the Prime Minister himself, Ángel Víctor Torres, has already defended “imposing a new tax”. , Podemos has stressed that “tourism is a threat to the economy” and the Government itself, “limit the number of tourists.”
Domínguez has indicated that the appointment of Gómez does not respond to the possible weight of the Canarian PSOE in the federal structure, on the contrary, during this Legislature, Torres has been “extremely submissive” and not very critical” of Pedro Sánchez, for which reason the appointment is more due to “to satisfy who has raised the tone little”.
