On the 8th of June, Garachico will be shrouded in mystique and history as it reveals the obscure secrets and ancient legends of one of the most intriguing locations in the Canary Islands.
‘Mysterious Garachico’ will delve into stories linked to the Inquisition’s witch hunts, accounts of miraculous objects and nuns, and Marian devotions intertwined with Guanche culture.
The exploration will not only unveil ghostly apparitions and the resilience of a town that braved adversities, but also provide exclusive access to venues typically off-limits to the public.
It’s a unique opportunity to witness Garachico in an unprecedented light with insightful narratives from experts José Gregorio González, author and director of Crónicas de San Borondón, and Sonia Francisco Rodríguez, a local historian and tour guide.
The event will run from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. for a fee of 25 euros, requiring prior registration. The initiative is charitable in nature and includes accommodation recommendations for participants travelling from other islands.
