SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, Jan. 13 (EUROPA PRESS) –

The Ministry of Ecological Transition, Fight against Climate Change and Territorial Planning of the Government of the Canary Islands has officially constituted this Friday the Mixed Commission on those affected by the Coastal Law, thus complying with a cooperation protocol signed in 2016 by the Executive with the different platforms involved.

The meeting was attended by the director responsible for the Area, José Antonio Valbuena; the Deputy Minister of Territorial Planning, Leopoldo Díaz; the General Director of Territorial Planning, Víctor Navarro; and representatives of Fecam, Fecai, the Canary Islands Platform for People Affected by the Coastal Law, the Association of United Neighbors of Tufia Beach and the Playgarza Neighborhood Association.

Valbuena explained at the beginning of the meeting that the reason for calling this commission at the beginning of the year is to make it coincide with the moment in which the new powers of Coasts are officially assumed by this regional department, which equalizes the Canary Islands with other communities and enforces the Statute of Autonomy.

In addition, the regional counselor advanced that the Government will carry out a commission for the detailed study of all the nuclei affected by this Coastal legislation, analyze the total number of files and evaluate the legal and structural situation of each case, also taking into account account the social profile of the citizens that are there or available infrastructures, details the Ministry in a note.

The president of the Platform for People Affected by the Coastal Law, José Luis Langa González, recalled that there is a modification from 2013 that contemplates a series of exceptions that should be analyzed from a legal point of view, but that up to now have not been addressed by the State in order to disaffected certain coastal enclaves.

Leopoldo Díaz, Deputy Minister of Territorial Planning and Ecological Transition, took advantage of the occasion to explain how this transfer has occurred, how the troops transferred by the competent Ministry are being reorganized and the own resources that have been implemented by the Ministry, the first steps that are already being taken since the powers were assumed on January 1 and the different files that are still pending additional information from the State.
