SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, Dec. 1 (EUROPA PRESS) –
The Cabildo de Tenerife, through the Insular Water Council (CIATF) is working on drafting a project for the construction of a desalination plant that will be installed in the Güímar Industrial Estate and that will have a production capacity of 14,000 cubic meters, with possibility of reaching 21,000 cubic meters.
“The drafting of this project began last summer and it will be completed in the first quarter of 2023”, indicated the Minister for Sustainable Development and the Fight Against Climate Change, Javier Rodríguez, who added that “another step is being taken to free the water stress in the region, where other measures have already been implemented, such as the urban water treatment plant and that of the industrial estate itself, to solve a chaotic situation in terms of water treatment throughout the area”.
The drafting of this project has a cost that will exceed 200,000 euros and it will include the drive to the head tank (elevation 175 meters) as well as the head tank itself that corresponds to the first phase and which will be able to accommodate 7,000 cubic meters, pick up a note from the Cabildo.
The installation of this infrastructure will make it possible to supply water at a good price and of good quality as is already produced in other places on the island such as Granadilla.
