The Ministry of Ecological Transition, Fight against Climate Change and Territorial Planning of the Canary Islands has denied that the counselor, José Antonio Valbuena, has stated that the Adeje City Council (Tenerife) have to pay any type of compensation related to the urbanization project of Cuna del Alma.
In a statement, the regional government has indicated that it is a hypothetical situation -in response to a question regarding what would happen in the event that an urban planning license was badly granted- “that is far from being raised in the procedure which is open and in its early stages of processing”.
Currently, a process of precautionary stoppage of the Cuna del Alma projectby the regional Biodiversity Service, to adequately analyze possible effects on the endemic flora of the islands.
For its part, the file is in the phase of receipt of allegations of all the parties involved, which will be analyzed by this Ministry in the coming days.
Likewise, the Ministry has indicated that this file will not have definitive resolutions until the analysis of these allegations is carried out and a detailed study of the plots included in the project is carried out.
In addition, until these investigative works are completed by this Department, timely determinations will not be made or the corresponding ones will be issued. resolution proposals.

At the same time, the Agency for the Protection of the Natural Environment, which reports to this Ministry, is processing another file related to this project by the absence of Environmental Impact Statement, that in the first instance it will proceed to open a period of allegations to the affected parties.
After analyzing them, we will proceed to prepare a final proposal that can lead to any of the possible scenarios that would range from the conclusion that everything has been processed correctly until they are determined. what procedures have been omittedwith their possible consequences.
Therefore, it will not be until that moment when it is determined if there are compensation rightswhich in any case will depend on the analysis of various factors that are currently impossible to elucidate.
