SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, Nov. 13 (EUROPA PRESS) –
A 77-year-old man has died after being rescued from the sea with signs of drowning on the Valle Gran Rey beach, in La Gomera, as reported by the Emergency and Security Coordination Center (Cecoes) 1-1-2.
The event occurred shortly after 0900 hours, when the 1-1-2 operating room received an alert informing that a bather had been rescued from the sea in an unconscious state and with signs of drowning.
The person who had located the affected person floating and had taken him to shore identified himself as a doctor and, upon verifying that he was in cardiorespiratory arrest, began performing basic cardiopulmonary resuscitation maneuvers on him in collaboration with the displaced troops, until the arrival of health resources.
Firefighters from Valle Gran Rey traveled to the scene with a semi-automatic defibrillator. Finally, the maneuvers carried out did not work and the health personnel confirmed the death of the affected person. The Civil Guard was in charge of the corresponding proceedings.
