SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, 16 Oct. (EUROPE PRESS) –
The firm Ananas Wear, attached to the Tenerife Moda program, has won the award for the most commercial collection in the fifth edition of Tenerife Fashion Beach Costa Adeje, an initiative of the Cabildo and the Adeje City Council, with the support of Turismo de Tenerife and the Government of the Canary Islands, which was held yesterday, Saturday, and which featured the designer Ágatha Ruiz de la Prada as a guest.
This event, which has established itself as an international benchmark for the latest trends in fashion specializing in swimwear, as well as a meeting point for experts in the field, is a unique platform throughout Europe in which not only trends in the sector but rather serves as a tourist promotion for the Island and Adeje in particular under the binomial ‘fashion and climate’.
The event was attended by the president of the Cabildo de Tenerife, Pedro Martín; the mayor of Adeje, José Miguel Rodríguez Fraga; the island councilor for Employment, Socioeconomic Development and Foreign Action, Carmen Luz Baso; the island director of Socioeconomic Development, Ermitas Moreira, and the island director of Tourism, Laura Castro, among other authorities.
In its fifth edition, the catwalk once again featured the international top model and TVE presenter Nieves Álvarez, who has been in charge of presenting this event for yet another year, together with Roberto Herrera from TVE Canarias.
The Tenerife Fashion Beach Costa Adeje catwalk, framed within the third edition of Tenerife Volcanic Fashion, had ten participating firms, in charge of presenting their beach and pool collections, supported by five brands specialized in accessories, all committed to defending the oceans under the solidarity cause Plastic Free, a sustainable purpose that is committed to weaving a more sustainable future with the elimination of single-use plastic to reduce the pollution of our seas.
The brands attached to the Tenerife Moda program: Ola Olita, Noemí Felipe, Seco-Seco, Arena Negra, Lava, Ananas Wear and MasquePuntas, complemented in styling by Son Gómez, Hubara Design, Little Pretty, My Sweet Alpargatas and Handcrafted, respectively, as well as the guest firms Suhárz, from the Gran Canaria Moda Cálida program, and Serra, from Isla Bonita Moda (La Palma), were in charge of presenting their collections on the big catwalk, whose finishing touch was given by the firm Ágatha Ruiz de the prada.
Recognition of the firms of Tenerife Moda
Likewise, among the novelties of this edition, the award for the most original and commercial collection has been established for the first time, a recognition of the Tenerife Moda firms that are committed to quality and that have had a jury made up of professionals of recognized prestige from the world of fashion and chaired by Jesús María Montes-Fernández, journalist, director of the TVE program Flash Moda and National Fashion Award winner.
The first award on this catwalk went to the Ananas Wear brand from Tenerife Moda, whose designer Javier Aguilar bets for Spring-Summer 2023 on color as the protagonist. Under the title of Sukha, the collection is inspired by Tenerife, for which the brand makes a sample of the faithful reflection of the vegetation, beaches and sand of the Island, highlighting the intense colors of the sea and wildlife.
Ananas Wear was accompanied on the catwalk by the brand Handcrafted, from Tenerife Moda, which inspires its accessories with a positive and strong attitude, with many nods to the seventies. The designer Gisela Castillo has opted for XL earrings, showy and strong.
extensive program
The Tenerife Fashion Beach has had an extensive program of activities in its three days of celebration, which began on the 14th with the New Talents catwalk for entrepreneurial firms, as well as the celebration of Fashion Talks that have given the public the opportunity to know the sector, from a professional and close point of view, from the hand of great fashion references and of recognized prestige at a national and international level.
Social networks and their influence on fashion, travel or lifestyle, the industry from within, the importance of styling or sustainability are some of the axes around which these meetings have revolved with the journalist and influencer Clara Courel; trend influencers Cris Mata, Teresa Bass and Cristina Cerquieras; the Boisset brothers (Alex and Mikel), who combine their profile as influencers with fashion and travel, or the international top model Oriol Elcacho, among others.
The event was also followed via streaming around the world by nearly 20,000 followers of the official channels of Tenerife Fashion Beach and Tenerife Moda, as well as in person by almost 1,000 people.
The fifth edition of the Tenerife Fashion Beach kicked off with the New Talents catwalk, an action that was resumed after the break in the sector as a result of the pandemic and that, in this new edition, featured four firms from Tenerife Moda, in charge of presenting their new proposals in fashion and accessories focused on swimwear.
The Farobag, Evana, NOK and By Loleiro brands were in charge of offering an entrepreneurial design show on the catwalk held at The Duke Shop Shopping Center in Costa Adeje.
The first five years of life of the Tenerife Fashion Beach Costa Adeje has been followed in two formats: face-to-face and digital, through the official TFBCA platforms online and through deferred television.
