The Cabildo de Tenerife, through the Municipal Cooperation and Housing area, allocates an item of one million euros to help the municipalities in the execution of housing rehabilitation works in their municipalities.
This is the economic amount authorized for this financial year 2022 within the Insular Housing Rehabilitation Plan, to which 26 municipalities on the island have adhered this year. The plan has a total budget of 1,060,918 euros, of which the Cabildo finances the majority, 1,000,463 euros, and the municipalities, the remaining 60,455 euros.
Counselor Zebenzuí Chinea clarifies that “through this plan, the Cabildo helps municipalities in housing works and reforms, especially for vulnerable families, to guarantee good living conditions and accessibility in their homes and improve their quality of life. ”.
The island official highlights, in this sense, the important social function that is fulfilled with these economic contributions, “which have allowed reform and accessibility works in the homes of neighbors and neighbors with reduced mobility, as well as fixing leaks and humidity, improvements of roof waterproofing, electrical installations, among many other repairs”.
Chinea points out that it is holding work meetings with the municipalities to learn about the works that have been carried out through this island program in previous years and to coordinate the new approved investment. She has already met with the mayor of El Sauzal, Mariano Pérez, a municipality that this year has an item of 39,505 euros.
