SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, July 14. (EUROPA PRESS) –
The Governing Council authorized this Thursday a direct subsidy amounting to 200,000 euros to the Canarian Workers’ Commissions (CCOO) union to maintain the financing granted during the last two years to its project ‘Equal Treatment and Opportunity Cabinet’.
Specifically, through the General Directorate of Labour, the direct concession was proposed based on reasons of social interest formulated by the CCOO Canarias on the basis of promoting parity of opportunities between women and men in union practice, in compliance with the equality recognized by the Spanish Constitution.
After the legal obligation to prepare and apply an equality plan for all Spanish companies with a workforce of 50 to 100 people throughout 2022, Royal Decree 901/2020 established that the negotiating committee for the new documents in companies Companies without legal representation of the workforce must have the most representative trade union organizations, such as the CCOO and the General Union of Workers (UGT) in the Canary Islands.
Framed in the Strategic Plan for Subsidies of the Ministry of Economy, Knowledge and Employment for the period 2020-2022, direct aid to CCOO generates the opportunity to inform and train union delegates through technical offices before their subsequent participation in the new labor negotiation processes for equality plans, highlights the Government in a note.
At the end of last May, the Governing Council also agreed to renew a direct subsidy worth 200,000 euros for the continuity of the UGT Equality technical office.
