Tonight will take place second of the phases of the Adult Murgas Contest of the Santa Cruz Carnival. Again today it will be a female murga, Burlonas, in charge of inaugurating this second phase, in which another six formations will participate. Specifically, after Burlonas they will go on stage, and in this order, Los Diablos Locos, Triqui Traques, Los Desbocados, MásQLocas and Ni Pico Ni Corto.
The interpretation jury for the phases and finals of the competition is made up of Eduardo Peña, graduated in Percussion from the Professional Conservatory of Music of Santa Cruz de Tenerife and president of the Symphonic Band of the University of La Laguna; Virginia Guantanamera, international singer and composer, with three Cubadisco awards in her musical career; Teresa de Jesús Jerónimo, music teacher and graduate in pedagogy of musical language; Kiko Barroso, journalist and broadcaster for Canarias Radio; María José Cámara, contributor to Canarias Radio, singer, musical director, actress and journalist; Laura Vanesa Rodríguez, director and head of production for Ahora TV; Sergio Branic, presenter, singer and actor; Joel Angelino, actor and director of the La Ventana Mágica Performing Arts Association, and Joche Rubio, teacher and theater actor, actor in the series Hierro and in the films Palmeras en la noche and Yucatán.
The presentation award will be voted for by Violeta Almenar, Senior Patronage Technician; María Yolanda Cañas, professor at the Fernando Estévez School of Art and Superior Design, and Noemí Torres, fashion designer.
