Today, the Adeje Town Hall announced via its Facebook page the Reopening of the popular La Pinta beach situated in Puerto Colón, following confirmation that the water quality has returned to suitable levels for swimming.
This update comes just one day after reports indicated that the beach had been temporarily closed due to an alteration in the microbiological parameters of the water.
According to the local council, recent analyses have confirmed that the water now meets the safety criteria necessary for bathers, thereby alleviating any concerns regarding potential health hazards.
The closure was a prompt response to the discovery of elevated bacterial levels, which has contributed to previous incidents that had already necessitated another temporary beach closure in recent weeks.
It is important to highlight that the aforementioned bathing area in Adeje was closed for two days following the detection of enterococcus bacteria, a marker of faecal contamination that can lead to skin, eye, respiratory, and gastrointestinal infections in individuals exposed to contaminated water.
