The Canary Coalition-Canary Nationalist Party (CC-PNC) in the Tegueste City Council yesterday denounced the approval in the last plenary session, by the local government quadripartite (PSOE, Podemos, Now Tegueste-Nueva Canarias and Sí Se puede), of a credit supplement file that increases the holiday item by more than 66% compared to what was budgeted for 2022.
The spokesman for CC in Tegueste, Juan Norberto Padilla, stated “he does not understand how, after approving the 2022 budget in April, this credit modification is now being brought in, which exaggeratedly increases current spending.” And the councilor added: “Specifically, the party item is increased by 210,000 euros, an amount that represents a new example of the improvisation and lack of planning of the current government group.”
The mayor also indicated that “the quadripartite justifies this increase when in previous terms some of its members were against all kinds of festive events, in which they never participate.” “Sadly, it is one more sign of the lack of coherence and economic lack of control that exists in the current municipal officials,” he continued.
The party showed its “strong support” for traditional festivals, but, he added, “we do not understand the economic lack of control and the lack of planning.”
